A Star Is Born

Gaga's next side project happened in the middle of the Joanne era, where it was announced by Warner Brothers that she would star alongside Bradley Cooper in the fourth remake of "A Star Is Born." The project was Cooper's first as a director and he also co-wrote the screenplay. The soundtrack, that was released along with the film on October 5th, 2018, was recorded at different concerts in 2017, including at one of Gaga's "Joanne World Tour" stops.

The whole album was not eligible for the 2019 Grammy Awards since it missed the Grammy deadline, but its lead single "Shallow" was nominated for four awards, including "Song of the Year", "Record of the Year", "Best Pop Duet/Group Performance" and "Best Song Written for Visual Media". As well, Gaga's performance in the film earned her nominations for "Best Actress in a Drama" at the Golden Globes and at the Critics Choice Awards.
